Julian Seidel
JULIAN L. SEIDEL, 97 - Julian L. Seidel, 97, of
Rockford died July 23, 2008, in his home surrounded by
his family. Born Oct. 17, 1910, in Sycamore, the son of
Charles and Nellie Seidel. Graduated from Rockford High
School in 1930. Married Ardath Hepfer-Egler on June 13,
1953. Proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air
Core from 1940 to 1945. Member of the American
Legion 1207 and the VFW of Belvidere. Retired as a
postal carrier in June 1973. Played the trombone for 11
years with The Ralph Williams Orchestra. His hobbies
included golf and the American Legion and NARFE.
Survivors include wife, Ardath Seidel; son, Darrell
(Vickie) Egler; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Egler;
son-in-law, Gail Sibigtroth; grandchildren, Kim (Dave)
Foor, Steve (Teresa) Egler, Diana Sibigtroth, Anita
(Scott) Pence, Donald Egler, Justin (Laura) Egler, Brian
(Annie) Egler; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth
McLaughlin; and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents; daughter, Sandra Sibigtroth;
son, Donald Egler (Mike); granddaughter, Becky Egler;
three brothers; and four sisters. Service at 1 p.m.
Saturday, July 26, in Our Master's United Methodist
Church, 5973 Darlene Drive, Rockford, with visitation
from noon to time of service.
