Survivors include his daughter, Dana L. (Clay) Bethuy of Rockford; granddaughters, Danielle Small and Dana'e Slye, both of
Rockford; grandson, Danny R. Slye of Rockford; great-grandson, Ethan Small of Rockford; also several nieces and nephews.
Daniel Slye, a tremendous friend and help to Robert over the years. Dee Heiken, a beautiful lady who he held dear to his heart.
Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, who died Aug. 10, 1990; his father, John in 1934; stepfather, Charles Boumgarden; mother,
Hattie Boumgarden; sons, Bradley and Brian; brothers, John and Fred Moore; sister Frances Cook.
The family extends a very special thank you along with their gratitude to Hospice Care of America and Highview in the
Woodlands for their excellent and compassionate care given to Robert.
Funeral was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007 in Wilbur Christenson Funeral Home Ltd. with Pastor Jerry De Mond of Halsted
Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial was held in Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice Care of America, 483 N.
Mulford Road, Rockford, IL, 61107.
Rockford-Robert S. Moore, 83 loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and special friend, died at
2:15 pm Thursday, April 26, 2007, in Highview in the Woodlands after an extended illness. Born Feb. 17,
1924, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of John G. Moore and Hattie (Engel) Moore. Lived in Rockford since
1936, coming from St. Paul. Married the former Dorothy Lund on Sept. 29, 1946, in Rockford. He was
employed as a tool and die maker, before becoming a service engineer and instructor for Dixon Automatic
Tool, retiring in March 2989. Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the European
Theater of Operations in Italy. Life member of Belvidere VFW 1461. Also, member of Bevidere Moose
Lodge 295. He attended Rockford Public Schools.
